As a projector, the Hitachi CP X505 combines LCD technology with a resolution of XGA 1024 x 768, and is additionally specified with 3500 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 1000:1. In operating mode, the installed projector lamp offers a lifespan of 2000 hours. To facilitate room installation, the device is equipped with mechanical lens shift and additional keystone correction, allowing the projected image to be positioned with immense flexibility. The specifications identify the device as a model with an interchangeable lens option. Matching optional optics allow for exact adaptation to the required image size and projection distance, which can be calculated directly with the Distance Calculator. Looking at practical performance, up to 515 cm can be illuminated with 3500 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 343 cm. For integration into professional environments, an RJ45 connection is available for network control and remote maintenance. The projector was released in 2006 and is officially no longer distributed by Hitachi.
