Based on LCD technology, the Hitachi EDX 3270 device delivers 1900 ANSI lumens, a resolution of XGA 1024 x 768 and a contrast of 300:1 as a projector. The runtime of the lamp in this model is estimated at 2000 hours before a replacement is necessary. The image geometry can be adjusted via the built-in keystone correction so that a clean, rectangular display is achieved even with non-ideal placement. Looking at practical performance, up to 380 cm can be illuminated with 1900 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 253 cm. The projector was released in 2003 and is officially no longer distributed by Hitachi.
