Based on DLP technology, the Canon LX-MU500Z projects images in a Stationary environment, with technical specs listing 5000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 50000:1 and a WUXGA 1920 x 1200 resolution. The laser technology ensures a specified light source lifespan of up to 20000 hours. Daily use of 4 hours makes an operational lifespan of over 13.7 years possible. Thanks to the combination of optical lens shift and digital keystone correction, the projected image's position can be adjusted very flexibly. The Projector Calculator helps find the optimal installation dimensions. Regarding projection size, the value of 5000 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 718 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 479 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P as well as 3D are supported. An additional 360° projection capability allows the device to be oriented at almost any angle. Thanks to MHL support, screen content from mobile devices can be transmitted via cable, including charging power for the device. Connectivity for fixed installations is rounded off by an RJ45 port for remote maintenance and an HDBaseT interface, which transmits bundled video, audio, and control data over long cable runs. The projector was released in 2018 and is officially no longer distributed by Canon.
