Behind the name VPL PX40 is a Laser-LCD projector by Sony, whose main features include 3500 ANSI lumens and a resolution of XGA 1024 x 768. The manufacturer lists the lamp life at 2000 hours. Thanks to the interchangeable lens system, the device can be equipped with optional lenses to react flexibly to different room sizes. Exact values for specific rooms are provided by the Distance Calculator. A look at the light output reveals: The 3500 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 515 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 343 cm. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. Since entering the market in 2002, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.
