Behind the name i500 is a 3D-DLP projector by Benq, whose main features include 500 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 100000:1 and a WXGA 1280 x 800 resolution. Thanks to LED technology, the projector is rated for a lifespan of up to 20000 hours. With four hours of daily operation, this corresponds to a period of 13.7 years. With its short projection distance, the short-throw model excels in smaller rooms, requiring only 120 cm of wall distance for an image width of 2 meters. Regarding projection size, the value of 500 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 227 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 151 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P as well as 3D. As an additional feature, an integrated media player enables the direct playback of files without an external source device. For wireless audio output, the projector also supports Bluetooth, making it easy to quickly connect external soundbars. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. Equipped with a microphone jack and built-in speakers (5W), audio signals during presentations can be played back directly without an external audio system. A look at the data sheet confirms a very subtle fan noise for the projector at just 30 decibels. This model dates back to 2016 and is no longer part of Benq's current product range.
