The PLV Z3 is a LED-LCD projector by Sanyo, whose specifications list 800 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 2000:1 and a HDTV 1280 x 720 resolution. According to Sanyo, the included lamp lasts up to 2000 hours. Regarding setup flexibility, the model features an optical lens shift function alongside digital keystone correction, allowing for precise alignment; exact values can be calculated using the Projector Calculator. Regarding projection size, the value of 800 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 287 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 191 cm. The projector was released in 2004 and is officially no longer distributed by Sanyo. This model continues to hold a solid place in our database search queries.

The Sanyo Z3 projector is still worth its money today.
Lens Shift simply top installation uncritical.
Picture over 1080i top.
Very quiet.
I am absolutely thrilled.
Anyone looking for a great projector for little money should buy one here.

in the first impression
I bought the projector used.
It makes a nice picture.
The problem I have is that when I go in
with HDMI from the PS 3 the color green is slightly shifted to the left. Is there a way to change that?

Convincing projector
I‘ve had the device for about 1 year now (bought second-hand) and have to say:
The projector is really absolutely great. Despite its age, it‘s still able to center current devices in its price range as much as possible.
And then the only point where my friends are way ahead of me: the black level isn‘t that great due to the LCD technology. DLP is really better. But for me, in view of the rainbow effect with DLP, it‘s an acceptable evil.
The volume is really great, at least in Eco mode. It‘s really not annoying. But you shouldn‘t sit to the right of the projector at the same height, then you‘ll quickly get red cheeks
If I didn‘t already have one, I‘d buy the Z3 again without hesitation.

Not bad not bad
Had bought the Z 3 used.was very surprised at first about the quiet part.
Very quiet I must say.
The picture was also convincing.
Black level well well well.could be a bit better.
The real complaint was that you can‘t place or hang the z3 too far from the screen otherwise it won‘t work with 16:9
That‘s why I had to part with it
The lensshift is great.
For people who want a quiet, good, inexpensive device and don‘t mind the short distance of max. 3.60 m, the z3 is highly recommended
I‘ll buy a z4 now and see how it is
Have fun buying and enjoying it

Z3
The volume values given here are completely wrong! The Z3 makes 24DB in Eco mode and not 29DB !
A super projector that still comes close to the Z5 if you switch off the Auto Iris, which drives you crazy anyway.
Since the Z3 I have seen little further development in LCDs and especially with Sanyo.

Previous year‘s model that still knows how to convince
The Sanyo PLV Z3 was one of the most popular projectors last year. For the time being, Sanyo is letting it run parallel to its successor, the Z4. This makes it a very interesting alternative to the current LCDs in terms of price. Its picture is crisp, coherent and balanced, even if it doesn‘t quite reach the values of its successor. Our conclusion: The Z3 remains a hot tip. Definitely worth a look in the under 1.5k euro class.
