With the FLM R22+, Barco offers a DLP projector that features 1320 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 1800:1 and a resolution of SXGA+ 1400 x 1050. The manufacturer lists the lamp life at 750 hours. The specifications indicate lens shift optics, allowing the image to be physically shifted without introducing digital image artifacts. The specifications identify the device as a model with an interchangeable lens option. Matching optional optics allow for exact adaptation to the required image size and projection distance, which can be calculated directly with the Projection Calculator. Because the manufacturer specifies brightness in lumen specifications, we have determined an ANSI lumen value for better comparability. Looking at practical performance, up to 316 cm can be illuminated with 1320 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 211 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. Since entering the market in 2008, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model. However, it remains one of the frequently accessed models in our database. Important maintenance note: It is no longer possible to procure replacement lamps for this model.
