The Mitsubishi XL5980U is a LCD projector offering 5500 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 600:1 and a resolution of XGA 1024 x 768. The manufacturer lists the lamp life at 1500 hours. Regarding setup flexibility, the model features an optical lens shift function alongside digital keystone correction, allowing for precise alignment without distortion. To meet a wide variety of installation conditions, the projector offers the option of using different interchangeable lenses. Verifying the respective distances is easily possible via the Lens Calculator. A look at the light output reveals: The 5500 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 646 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 431 cm. The projector was released in 2006 and is officially no longer distributed by Mitsubishi.
