The projector Crimson HD31 by Christie utilizes DLP technology and, according to the spec sheet, achieves 28000 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 2000:1 at a resolution of HDTV 1920 x 1080. This is a laser projector with a light source designed to last for 20000 hours. With four hours of daily operation, this corresponds to a period of 13.7 years. A major advantage for professional installations is the ability to use interchangeable lenses, allowing the projector to adapt to highly varied projection distances. Regarding projection size, the value of 28000 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 1700 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 1133 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported. A massive advantage for fixed installations is the HDBaseT interface, which transmits video, audio, and control signals losslessly over long cable runs. Since entering the market in 2020, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.
