The DWU1612-HS is a 3D-DLP projector by Christie, whose specifications list 18500 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 2000000:1 and a WUXGA 1920 x 1200 resolution. This is a laser projector with a light source designed to last for 20000 hours – equivalent to a usable life of 13.7 years at 4 hours a day. A major advantage for professional installations is the ability to use interchangeable lenses, allowing the projector to adapt to highly varied projection distances. Which optic is required for a specific case can easily be calculated via the Distance Calculator. A look at the light output reveals: The 18500 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 1382 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 921 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported. The model is perfectly equipped for complex installations: In addition to the RJ45 jack for network administration, an HDBaseT port is available, transporting high-resolution AV signals over a single Cat cable. The projector was released in 2020 and is officially no longer distributed by Christie.
