Based on DLP technology, the Christie Griffyn 4K50-RGB device delivers 46000 ANSI lumens, a resolution of UHD (4K+2K) 4096 x 2160 and a contrast of 5000:1 as a projector. Using this laser phosphor technology, the light source runtime is rated at 25000 hours – equivalent to a usable life of 17.1 years at 4 hours a day. Thanks to the interchangeable lens system, the device can be equipped with optional lenses to react flexibly to different room sizes. Exact values for specific rooms are provided by the Lens Calculator. Regarding projection size, the value of 46000 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 337 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 225 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content and 4K as well as 3D. An additional 360° projection capability allows the device to be oriented at almost any angle. The HDBaseT connection particularly shows its strengths in complex installations, enabling long transmission paths with standard CAT cables.
