As a projector, the Epson EB-970 combines LCD technology with a resolution of XGA 1024 x 768, and is additionally specified with 4000 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 15000:1. According to Epson, the lamp has a durability of 6000 hours. A daily usage of 2 hours makes an operational lifespan of 8.2 years possible. Should a perpendicular setup to the screen not be possible, the integrated keystone correction (horizontal and vertical) helps to realign the image into a perfect rectangle. Regarding projection size, the value of 4000 ANSI lumens allows for an image width of up to 551 cm in darkened environments. In rooms with ambient light, the image width should be correspondingly reduced to a maximum of 367 cm. In terms of video signals, the device processes resolutions up to Full HD 1080P. Thanks to MHL support, screen content from mobile devices can be transmitted via cable, including charging power for the device. For convenient remote monitoring and administration, the projector is equipped with a classic RJ45 network socket. Since entering the market in 2017, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.
