The EB-L550U model from Epson combines LCD technology in the Stationary sector with 5200 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 25000000:1 and a native WUXGA 1920 x 1200 resolution. Using this laser phosphor technology, the light source runtime is rated at 20000 hours – calculating to 13.7 years at four hours of use per day. Thanks to the combination of optical lens shift and digital keystone correction, the projected image's position can be adjusted very flexibly. The Lens Shift Calculator helps find the optimal installation dimensions. Looking at practical performance, up to 733 cm can be illuminated with 5200 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 489 cm. Should very large projection surfaces be required, the integrated edge-blending software offers the possibility to seamlessly combine images from multiple projectors without visible seams. For media input, video signals up to 1080P and 4K as well as 3D are supported. An additional 360° projection capability allows the device to be oriented at almost any angle. As an additional feature, an integrated media player enables the direct playback of files without an external source device. Regarding professional networking, the device offers a classic RJ45 LAN port for control alongside HDBaseT for the lossless transmission of picture and sound over long distances. Since entering the market in 2023, production has been discontinued; the manufacturer no longer actively offers the model.
