Model Overview The EH TW3200 is a Laser-LCD projector by Epson, whose specifications list 1800 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 25000:1 and a HDTV 1920 x 1080 resolution. In operating mode, the installed projector lamp offers a lifespan of 4000 hours – mathematically sufficient for 5.5 years based on two hours of use per day.
The presence of a lens shift function enables flexible vertical or horizontal positioning of the projector. The achievable distances are shown in the Lens Shift Calculator.
A look at the light output reveals: The 1800 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 431 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 287 cm.
For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported.
A look at the data sheet confirms a very subtle fan noise for the projector at just 22 decibels. This model dates back to 2010 and is no longer part of Epson's current product range. In our projector directory, the device still generates high interest.

Even after 13 years still very pleasant!

5 Stars Top device
Even after 10 years of use, the Epson is still a mega great device. When we have visitors and they see that we don‘t have a TV but a projector, they always want a demonstration, which we are happy to give them. Even after 10 years, we still use the movie Avatar, because it‘s such a great way to show off the good picture quality. I would prefer never to be without the Epson projector again. I even notice how I sometimes worry that I won‘t be able to buy a new bulb one day.

5 Stars A great device.
Ive had the projector for a few years now and Im very satisfied. Natural colors, absolutely sufficient brightness even in eco mode. The flexibility in terms of placement is a great thing; I just moved and it was so easy.

For me, there were only two small points that I didnt like:
1. Back in the store, I bought the projector mainly because of the lower fan noise and the lens shift. In the store, the projector was on a shelf. At home, it was then mounted on the ceiling and adjusted with the remote control ceiling projection – and unfortunately the fan then gets a little louder. Maybe Epson assumes higher temperatures under the ceiling – who knows. It is still one of the quietest projectors Ive ever heard, but its a bit of a shame. Well, when I moved, I planned it so that the device would be placed on a board under the ceiling – no problem thanks to the optics.

2. I still really like the image – the only criticism: there is virtually no gradation of dark greys. Dark scenes with little contrast are not easy to see. But that happens rather rarely and is--lets be honest--whining at a very, very high level...

Overall, I am thrilled, the cinematic feeling, coupled with good sound, cannot be replaced, my daughter loves watching movies together and nobody needs a black board on the wall.

In addition, the projector was even cheaper back then than it is now--I got it for a whopping €1000. It seems that Epson has realized what it is worth, now (years later) it costs almost €1200 in the same store.

Nevertheless, I still recommend it and would buy it again in a heartbeat.

5 Stars Perfect
I bought this already "old" projector at the end of 2012 because it was highly praised in all forums and test reports.

And it was GOLDRIGHT. The projector totally fulfills my requirements and expectations. The picture is super sharp. Brightness is more than sufficient. Top black level! Setup is child‘s play. And the main argument is that it is NOT TO BE HEARD in Eco mode (cinema and natural preset)! The only downside, but you have to be aware of that when you buy this device, is its enormous dimensions

We use it in the living room with a 16:9 screen approx. 2.60 m wide. We watch movies in the evening and occasionally HD sports during the day

Conclusion:
TOP +++++ !!!

5 Stars Super
I can only recommend the Epson 3200. Operation and setting options are very good. The picture quality is flawless and leaves nothing to be desired. Only the size/weight are a bit oversized for transportation. But I knew that before I bought it. I have it mounted on the ceiling in the cellar.

4 Stars Good, but not perfect.
The device is actually a great projector. For the price, anyway. Very quiet and the settings are well-tuned. Almost optimal straight out of the box.

Pro:QuietEasy to useFlexible placement The image is bright enough when using a 3-meter screen in cinema mode (this is the mode with the most beautiful, natural image and the quietest fan noise), but it would be even crisper with a little more light. But its still ok. Other projectors are no better.

What bothers me quite a bit. At 50Hz signals, the image flickers noticeably (the TV signal in Germany is 50Hz). This is especially noticeable in Dynamic mode (because the image is brighter here). If you watch in Dynamic mode during the day, the flickering is very distracting! I had already sent the device back for this, but it didnt help. The flickering does NOT come from the lamp! At 60Hz you dont have the flickering and thus a super-quiet picture. For the sake of fairness: not everyone notices the flickering. It probably depends on the person. I notice it clearly. Two of my friends also noticed it without me saying anything. Many others dont notice it or dont find it disturbing. Personally, I find it annoying but still dont know of a better projector at this price.

CONTRA:
- Flicker at 50Hz
- Just bright enough in cinema mode on screens wider than 3m.
- No interlace reduction.
- Iris diaphragm completely unusable (no effect and too loud). But can be switched off.

5 Stars It could hardly be better
I bought it recently and am completely satisfied. The picture is first class, the menu is very easy to use and the price is unbeatable.

Can anyone tell me which screws I need for the projector, or how big the threads on the back of the projector are to attach a ceiling mount to it?
The picture is simply top class.

4 Stars Caution
Wanted to buy an LCD/Plasma TV at first, but couldn‘t find a device that delivers a good picture for around 1200€, be it HD or normal satellite picture. One of the two was usually absolutely bad. After googling for a long time, I noticed this projector with a positive rating, but I couldn‘t find anything at all in terms of defects and faults. The 1800 Ansi lumens are completely sufficient, as is the speed in fast scenes. The contrast and the picture quality is just great, I didn‘t have to make any color adjustments. The volume is also acceptable, my normal computer is much louder here, I don‘t know why people are getting upset. I have the device running at full power, it doesn‘t bother me, I don‘t know of any projector that is quieter and delivers such a picture

Why LCD and not DLP, in a test of two 5000€ projectors the difference became really clear. DLP can display wonderful black and white values if nothing else is displayed in the picture. If colors come into play (test image almost like a TV) then you can see that the DLP has a gray veil over it. The colors on the LCD really shine here in all their glory

Negative:
- The housing is really big
- Remote control too
- Quite heavy so mobile use well, less important for permanent installation
- After about 130 hours the picture gets green spots on a black background. Known problem with many manufacturers and Epson is not spared despite closed housing and air filter. Epson itself says this problem is not known to us, who uses Google will find that many users have the problem

The problem can be easily tested: Set the zoom to the lowest level, project a black image and then turn the focus until you can see green dust specks. With Canon these are red spots (white background).

5 Stars Absolute insider tip
After I sold my first projector (a DLP model) in the price range of the Epson because of rainbow sensitivity, it was clear to me that I had to get an LCD projector.
After several forums I came across the Epson EH TW 3200 relatively quickly and decided to take a closer look at the device.
The reviews were consistently great, the lens shift function was of course wuderbar, so I could leave my projector mount in the same place as it was before.
In the store where I bought the Epson, I was a bit shocked at first, what a thing, in the pictures it looks somehow smaller but in real life it makes a very high-quality appearance.
At home I was totally blown away, you can hardly hear it, adjusted the picture with the lens shift, went into the menu and selected the cinema mode, then put in a Bluray and couldn‘t get out of my amazement, Epson has succeeded with this device a jack of all trades, for me absolutely perfect device at a hammer price.

5 Stars A TOP device at a top price
After a lot of research into DLP and LCD projectors, I decided on this device. With a projection distance of six meters and a width of 3.20 meters, the picture is still sufficiently bright even in cinema mode (Eco) and has a great contrast range, which is particularly evident in wide space or landscape shots (Avatar, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings). The fan is pleasantly quiet and can hardly be heard even during quiet movie passages. Thanks to the lens shift function, the device can or must be positioned at a right angle to the projection surface (do not tilt up or down as there is no keystone correction), and with a weight of seven kilograms, it can also be hung on the ceiling quite easily. "Only" 90 points because there is also the TW 3600 in a class above it, which offers an even better contrast range and higher light output. However, the 3200 is perfectly adequate for darkened movie theaters and for around €1,000 is a real bargain in the FullHD LCD projector segment.

4 Stars even in ECO.mode still much too bright
the picture of the projector itself is vivid & good, but even in ECO.mode with the "cinema setting" and a 280 cm wide screen with 1.0 G in the normal living room you could still watch with sunglasses, madness! almost too much of a good thing, for me very questionable the value with 1800 ansi, I think it‘s more!
