As a projector, the Optoma HD640 combines DLP technology with a resolution of HDTV 1280 x 720, and is additionally specified with 1600 ANSI lumens and a contrast of 4000:1. The runtime of the lamp in this model is estimated at 2000 hours before a replacement is necessary. Looking at practical performance, up to 406 cm can be illuminated with 1600 ANSI lumens in dark environments. Once daylight is in the room, the image should ideally be no wider than 271 cm. Regarding signal processing, the model is compatible with incoming 1080P content. This model dates back to 2008 and is no longer part of Optoma's current product range.
