The projector TL50W by Optoma utilizes DLP technology and, according to the spec sheet, achieves 500 ANSI lumens, a contrast of 2000:1 at a resolution of WXGA 1280 x 800. The LED unit of this model is rated for up to 20000 hours of runtime – calculating to 13.7 years at four hours of use per day. To reduce dependence on stationary power sources, the model is equipped with a built-in battery for autonomous operation. A look at the light output reveals: The 500 ANSI lumens are sufficient to illuminate an image width of up to 227 cm in darkened rooms. If room light is present, we recommend not exceeding a maximum width of 151 cm. For media input, video signals up to 1080P are supported. Also on board is a local media player that allows reading and playing content directly from storage media. The projector was released in 2012 and is officially no longer distributed by Optoma. As an archive device, the projector remains highly relevant in our database.
